School improvement research primarily deals with the interplay of educational policymaking, policy implementation, and the improvement of schools. Our center is engaged in research on fundamental processes of that interplay. Furthermore, we develop innovative methodology for the study of school improvement. Theories of organization in bounded rationality, e.g. concepts of organizational learning, and sensemaking in particular, as well as action-based theories form the theoretical basis of our research.
Within this research focus, we concentrate on the following three topics:
- Impact of Educational Policy and Governance on school Improvement
- Basics Research on School Improvement
- Methodology Development for School Improvement Research.
